Máté, Hungary

Meet one of our farmers, Máté Csáki from Hungary!

Farm size: 300 Hectares

Grows: Sweet corn, potato, green peas, corn, wheat, and oilseed rape

Irrigation system: 11 Hose reels

Tractors on the farm: John Deer, Landini, Fendt, and Case IH

Máté purchased his first Irrigation Sensor a year ago to help monitor his irrigation operation. Since then, the sensor has alerted numerous unexpected issues, including hose reels slowing down or stopping, rain guns tipping over, pressure drops, interrupted water supply, and irrigation runs finishing earlier than expected.

The causes have varied from broken turbine mechanisms and blocked fuel filters to disconnected pipes, low water levels in irrigation channels, and even a flat tire on a rain gun. As Máté has experienced firsthand, many different things can happen during irrigation, and some of them are difficult to predict without continuous monitoring.

What Máté likes most about the Irrigation Sensor is the peace of mind it provides, especially during nighttime irrigation. He values receiving alerts when something unexpected happens, knowing exactly when an irrigation run is completed, and reducing the need for constant supervision in the field.
